Love Comes Close is the debut full length from Cold Cave. Written and recorded in Philadelphia in 2008-09, the album was released by Heartworm Press and then re-released by Matador Records just as the band was beginning its foray into cult status.
Late night bedroom dark anthems for isolated dreamers with nods to the early years of synth pop and experimentation ala The Human League, Throbbing Gristle and New Order. Along with the title track, songs like "Life Magazine", "Heaven Was Full" and "Youth and Lust" went on to become live staples with their equal measures of romance and nihilism.
Remastered and cut by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Service.

I don't know why
I keep my nose
In the dead dirt
Just because I
Stepped on a rake once
Trying to smell
The infinite field of sunflower
It's uncanny just how good Actors is at emulating that Post-Punk synth sound from my younger days.
Each listen just gets better and better. I feel slightly ashamed for not having heard this album until a few short days ago. modestwriggles
Perfectly gloomy Norwegian goth/post-punk, anchored by a punchy rhythm section and driven by chiming guitar lines and morose vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 16, 2021
“Strangers” is packed with wonderfully menacing electro-goth—late-night horror movie music for vampire dance parties. Bandcamp New & Notable May 8, 2023
